Drinking Patterns and Alcohol-related Problems among employee in a workplace

Abstract
This is an exploratory study to describe drinking patterns and alcohol-related problems among workplace workers. A convenience sample of 160 workers was drawn from an auto factory located in Ul San City.
Drinking patterns in this study involve frequency of drinking, amounts of alcohol consumption, and frequency-quantity index. Three measurements are constructed to represent alcohol-related problems by summing up confirmative responses to 40 alcohol-related statements. They are consequence, social consequence, and dependence.
Date shows that about 90% of the respondents drink at least an alcoholic beverage during for two weeks. High prevalence rates of drinking are found in group of a young person and those with the highest monthly family income. Issues are discussed with respect to policy implications for industrial workers.
